Happy New Year!

With the promise of NYE parties, sequined dresses, a new pair of stilettoes and a kiss at midnight – I still managed to find myself plopped on the couch, snuggled up with my dog. Lame! There may or may not have been a pint of Ben and Jerry’s involved as well ;) Anylamenight, there’s something about the first of the year that gives me (and I’m not alone here) the hope that the slate has been cleaned, wrongs can be righted and I can be anything I want to be in 2012.

That’s correct… it’s resolution time!! As Bethany knows, I can make lists all year long of the magical things I want to accomplish. So here I am with the start of my list. Happy New Year everyone!!!
Resolution (#1)
It wouldn’t be fair to leave this one out. It’s time to get back into the workout routine and get my grocery list back on track. Day 2 and I’m still doing good J

Of course I will reward my good progress with new and improved workout gear!

And keep repeating this in my head each morning when I wake up at 5:30am for my first workout of the day.

Operation Muffin Top

Just checking in to let you know that the battle of the muffin top continues. Is it cheating to substitute my workout for the hour of raking grass-clippings in the yard?! Hell if I know. But I did and I’m my (mini) muscles are sore today.

my favorte workout, kayaking

It’s actually pretty amazing how much better I feel after just a few days of working out. I’m up earlier in the morning (before my alarm even), and staying fully charged all day long. I still hate working out though. Some things will never change.

Reduced Fat Muffin (Top)

Boys and Girls, like a lot of people I’ve got a muffin top that won’t quit (can’t believe I’m broadcasting this). Anywaistline, while I’m pretty tall and fairly slim I’m no longer a 20-something and it’s starting to show. The spring and summer had me nice and trim until a week with my mother that threw me so far off track that I’m pretty much staring down those pesky 10-lbs… again.
I’m no yo-yo dieter though. I’m trying to tackle this weight thing the healthy way, by eating nutritionally and working out. The Taco Bell lunch I had yesterday is so far off of this plan that I’m ashamed to admit it here. So, as my beautiful and toned sister (she owns a gym – how am I living? I don’t know) would likely tell me, stop making excuses and just start living healthier now. And that’s what I’m going to do.

Back to tracking my ~1,500 calorie, 1,400 mg sodium diet (note – diet’s not a dirty word. It just means the foods you eat. Doesn’t have to be Jenny Craig, Low Carb, etc… it can simply mean what you eat). Keeping it under control. Now I have to plan my work out tomorrow – ugh. I’ll let you know how I’m doing in a week or so.
