a holiday for our furry friends

I love my baby dog, Wilma, more than anyone can understand. I suspect many of you feel the same way about one of your furry family members, too? And doesn't your heart just break when you see strays or commercials on TV about needy animals? I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to Sarah McLachlan's Angel again...

We have a few local shelters and humane societies that could really benefit from your feelings and generosity. There's an adoption center on Dean Drive in Manassas that I dropped off several things at last year. They are eager to find homes for their resident strays, and while they do, they need supplies and donations to keep everyone warm and fed.

If you have any extras of the following items laying around the house, or you could spare a few bucks on your next trip to PetSmart, the shelters (ANY ONE OF THEM, in ANY county) could really use some of these things:

Dogs:
Nylabones, Kongs (all sizes), Peanut butter, Soft dog treats, Milkbones, Rawhide bones, Dog Food, Frontline
Cats:
Cat toys, Clay litter (Freshstep), KMR for kittens (powder), Cat Food, Advantage
Critters:
Wooden chew toys, Wooven rabbit toys, Oxbow Hay, Small animal bedding
Shelter:
Paper towels, Heating pads, Dish detergent, Sponges, Bleach, Laundry Detergent, Large Black Trash Bags, and Febreeze Air Freshner
Office:
General office supplies, Colored and white copy paper, Clorox cleaning wipes, Batteries, Stamps, Scotch tape, Company donation for printing of brochures and business cards
